Tegic, a unit of AOL's wireless division, has announced the availability of version 7.4 of T9 Text Input software in Gujarati, a native language in India. T9 Text Input software reportedly helps users of cell phones and mobile devices to write SMS text messages in 55 global languages, including multiple Indian languages.

The company informed that the Gujarati T9 Text Input software features enhanced word completion, customised word choice list and stem locking, which helps the user identify intended words more quickly by displaying a tailored word choice list.

In addition to the new features, the software reportedly enables easier switching between languages for users who prefer to text in more than one language, back-up of user-added words and text input preferences and a next word prediction function.

T9 software is also available in six other Indian languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali and Urdu. In the coming months, Tegic expects to announce the availability of T9 software in Kannada.
